INGENICO., its affiliates and subsidiaries, (together INGENICO or we/us/our) respect your privacy and are committed to safeguarding your right to privacy and your personal data. This Privacy Notice aims at informing you about how we treat your personal data when you use our products and services. This Privacy Notice applies to all INGENICO companies. Where applicable, this Privacy Notice may be complemented by the specific provisions described in the section “Country Specific Notices”.

Purpose of this Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice aims to give you information on how INGENICO collects and processes your personal data through your use of this website or our Services, including any data you may provide through this website when you sign to our newsletter or Services.

It does not apply to third-party websites, products, or services. For example: INGENICO may use third-party websites or tools to collect your personal data (for instance, for registration to events or participating in the contest organized by INGENICO or when you purchase product/service from a merchant In this case, INGENICO has no control on the treatment of your personal data by the third-party and will not accept any responsibility or liability for any processing of your personal data by the third parties. We recommend that you read the relevant privacy policies of the third parties that you have transacted with or have business relationship with, to understand how they process your personal data.

Categories of Personal Data We Collect

  1. Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).
  2. We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you which we have grouped together as follows:
  • Identifiers. Identity data includes first name, last name, username, or similar identifier, job title.
  • Financial Information. Financial data includes bank account and payment card details.
  • Commercial Information. Transaction data includes details about payment to and from you and other details of products and services you have transacted with, for example merchants.

  • Technical, Internet or Electronic Usage Data. Technical data includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions,  operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access our Services.   • Marketing Preferences. Marketing and communication data includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your communication preferences.
  • Sensitive Personal Information. We collect government issued identification numbers (e.g., social security, driver’s license, state identification card, passport number and account log-in (e.g., username and password to online account with us).  We do not collect other racial, ethnic origin, genetic data or other sensitive personal data. 
  • We may also process other data in each of the categories above depending on the nature of the contract or consent provided.
  1. We may also collect, use and share aggregated data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose. Aggregated data could be derived from your personal data but is not considered personal data in law as this data will not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. For example: we may aggregate your personal data to calculate the percentage of users accessing our website.

Where we need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of contact we have with you, and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have with you or execute the contract we are trying to enter into with you (for example, to provide you with our Services). In this case, we may have to cancel the service you have with us but we will notify you if this is the case.

  • obtain information from public domain where you may have provided to the public domain.
  • Services we provide: INGENICO may also process your personal data including identifiers, contact information, financial information and commercial information when:
  1. you are a merchant who uses the Services in accordance with the signed agreement between your Acquirer and INGENICO, for the purpose of a better managed services.
  2. you are a consumer utilizing or purchasing products or services from merchants which INGENICO may indirectly process your personal data for the above purposes.

Purposes for Collecting Personal Data

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • When we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you.
  • Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests.
  • Where we need to comply with a legal obligation.
  • Where we rely on your consent prior to sending you any direct marketing communications as required under the applicable law.

Change of Purpose

How We Share Information With Others

  • Payment industry suppliers and participants to your transactions, such as card schemes, payment method providers and third party acquirers, as necessary (i) to process payments or provide our Services; (ii) to help our business partners resolve disputes and detect and prevent fraud; and (iii) to help our business partners and merchants in regard to performance analytic to better understand the uses of their products or services and to help in enhancing users’ experiences.
  • Business partners, suppliers, service providers/processors, sub-contractors, and other third parties we use to support our business (such as analytics and search engine providers that assist us with website improvement and optimization).
  • Business partners and third parties to market their products or services to you if you have (consented to / not opted out of) these disclosures.
  • Advertisers and advertising networks that require the data to select and serve relevant ads to you and others.
  • For any other purposes that we disclose to you.

We may also disclose your personal data to third parties:

  • In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
  • To a buyer or other successor in the event of merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets, whether as a going concern or as party of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, where one of the transferred assets is the personal data we hold.

Transfer of Data Outside of Home Country

When possible, the data we collect from you is stored and processed at data centers in your home country.

INGENICO will take all reasonable legal, technical and organizational measures to ensure that if your data is transferred outside of your home country, it will be treated securely and with an adequate level of protection compared to the level of protection offered in your home country.

We may share your personal data with INGENICO group of companies who are based outside of your home country. We may also share your personal data with partners, suppliers or sub-processors based outside of your home country.

We have taken specific steps, in accordance with the applicable data protection law, to protect your personal data.  In particular, we will strive to restrict the transfer of your personal data to countries that have been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection for personal data.

Transfers of personal data outside of your home country will take place only where the organization receiving the personal data has provided us with adequate safeguards, and subject to a written agreement, in line with applicable data protection laws.

How Long We Keep Personal Data

We retain your personal data in an identifiable format for the least amount of time necessary to fulfil our legal or regulatory obligations and for our business purposes. We may retain your personal data for a longer period when there is a specific legal requirement to do so, for example in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to our relationship with you.

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, tax, regulatory or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.

In some circumstances, we may anonymize your personal data for statistical purposes in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.

It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during your relationship with us.

We strive to provide you with choices regarding certain personal data uses, particularly around marketing and advertising.

Data Security

Protecting your information and your privacy is extremely important to us. Being entrusted with some of your most valuable data, we have set high standards for data security. We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed, altered or disclosed in unauthorized manner.

We are PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) Level 1 compliant, which is the highest standard set by the payment card industry to ensure that card data is processed, stored or transmitted in a secure environment.

We store all personal data provided to us behind firewalls on servers employing security protections. All payment transactions are encrypted in accordance with PCI DSS requirements.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Services or platform, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.

This Website Is Not Intended For Children

We do not knowingly collect information, including personal data, from children or other individuals who are not legally able to use our Services. If we obtain actual knowledge that we have collected personal data from someone not allowed to use our Services, we will promptly delete it, unless we are legally obligated to retain such data.

Request access to your personal data

In certain circumstances you can object to our processing of your personal data. You have the absolute right to object where we are processing your personal data for direct marketing purposes. You can exercise this right at any time by contacting us.

You have the right to opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.

You have the right to direct us to limit the use or disclosure of your sensitive personal information to only the purposes specified in the relevant data protection law.

You have the right to opt out of automated decision-making, including profiling, that we use to evaluate certain qualifications as part of the recruitment process.

Request the transfer of your personal data to you or to a third party

We will provide to you, or a third party you have chosen, your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine readable format. This right applies to information which you have provided consent for us to use or where we used the information to perform a contract with you.

Request restriction of processing of your personal data

This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of your personal data in the following scenarios: (a) if you want us to establish the data’s accuracy; (b) where our use of the data is unlawful but you do not want us to erase it; (c) where you need us to hold the data even if we no longer require it as you need it to establish, exercise or defend legal claims; or (d) you have objected to our use of your data and we are considering whether we have overriding legitimate grounds to use it.

Withdrawal consent at any time where we are relying on consent to process your personal data

If you withdraw your consent, we may not be able to provide certain Services to you. We will advise you if this is the case at the time you withdraw your consent. However, this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdraw your consent.

You have the right to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We will not discriminate against you, deny you services, charge you a different price, or provide you with a lesser quality of services if you exercise any of your rights.

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of minors under the age of 16.

In the preceding 12 months, we have not used or disclosed sensitive personal information for purposes to which the right to limit use and disclosure applies under the CCPA.

INGENICO may use de-identified data in some instances. INGENICO either maintains such data without attempting to re-identify it or treats such data as personal data subject to applicable law.

Exercising Your Rights Under the U.S. State Privacy Laws



To exercise any of your privacy rights, please complete and submit the Webform found here. You can also email us at [email protected]. For all requests, you must provide us with your name, email address, phone number and copy of your identification document. A copy of your identification document is required to verify your identity only. Once the verification is completed, the said copy will be deleted. Failure to provide all of the foregoing information may prevent us from processing your request. For an online request to delete, we will also send you a second verification to confirm that you want your information to be deleted.



In order to designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf, you must provide a signed, written authorization as requested in the Webform or to us at [email protected].

Australia Specific Disclosures

Ingenico respects the privacy of its customers, partners, suppliers and staff. We are committed to treating all Personal Data (hereinafter refer to as “Personal Information” in Australia) in accordance with applicable privacy laws and the Australian Privacy Principles. 

Collection of Personal Information

We may obtain and hold personal information as necessary to enable us to provide products and services to our customers and to their customers. Depending on the product or service offered by us, we may collect personal Information such as:

  • First and last name
  • Date of Birth
  • Home/work/mobile phone numbers
  • Email address
  • Residential address
  • Business address
  • Bank details such as branch BSB, account name. account number
  • Driver’s licence number & expiry date
  • Passport number & expiry date

We may retain copies of information provided to us for verification if you choose not to provide this information, we may be restricted in our ability to provide services/products to you.

Generally, we collect personal information directly from you, for example when you complete an online form or request services. However, we may also receive your personal information from other parties in the course of providing services to our customers, for example information provided by a merchant’s acquiring bank.

We do not collect sensitive personal information in the normal course of business.

Use of Cookies & Other Technologies

We collect information from your visits to our websites through the use of cookies. Cookies allow us to:

  • Measure website usage & effectiveness
  • Assist you to more easily navigate the website
  • Personalize your website experience though association with your profile information or user preferences

Use and Disclosure

Our payment processing environment is protected by a variety of security measures, which may include:

We only allow access to personal information to our personnel who need access to that information for a specific purpose.

Accuracy and Correction

We endeavor to ensure that all your personal information we use to provide services is accurate. If you are aware that any personal information that we hold about you is incorrect or out of date, let us know and if possible, we will update the information.

We may require to (i) verify your identity and (ii) specify type of information you require or wish to correct. In some circumstances, where permitted by law, a request for access or correction may be refused.

Whilst making a request to access personal employee information is without charge, you may be charged a fee that will reflect our reasonable administrative, postage and handling costs of responding to your request. If the information sought is extensive, we will advise the likely cost in advance and can help to refine your request if required. We will not charge to correct factual errors in personal information.
